I've been wondering ...
How is it, or why is it that 1000W car Amplifiers (multi-chanel or monoblock) are so commonplace and cheap but 1000W home Amplifiers are super rare and then super super expensive?
Is it just that car Amplifiers are over rated e.g. 1000W pmpo at 10% THD?
But there are still top sound quality brands with high power output at low THD so not really?
I would have thought that it is easier to make power from 240V vs 12V ... or does AC vs DC make an impact?
But if that's the case there is circuitry to change for AC to DC before amplifying ...?
