    Anyone here have a Mede8tor MED500X?

Thanks a million: http://www.trailerz.demo-world.eu/hd/hd_dts_living_world_of_audio_lossless.part1.rar http://www.trailerz.demo-world.eu/hd/hd_dts_living_world_of_audio_lossless.part2.rar Make sure the DTS-HD MA is showing on your receiver when the file is playing. If you do run into a...

    Anyone here have a Mede8tor MED500X?

Hi, I'm busy testing out my new Egreat R2A player. I selected 'RAW' in the sound options. When trying to play a .m2ts file with a DTS-HD MA soundtrack, the sound cuts out intermittently on some files. I'm playing form the internal HDD (and even tried a flash drive) to a Onkyo TX-NR708...

New HT setup - help needed

Hi, Just reading your post about the Rti-A speakers you are looking at. I have pretty much the same setup (with the Csi-A6 centre and a different sub) Just want to tell you that I bought mine from "goneten" on the forums (Vaughan from Smartlifestyle), and if I said his service was AMAZING, it...

Do I need a sub upgrade?

Playing through my PC. Sending audio directly out to my receiver with the HDMI cable. Is there another setting (besides Audyssey) that would turn on Dynamic range on my receiver (I have the Onkyo TX-NR708). Doesn't dynamic range mess up a lot of frequency response etc?

Do I need a sub upgrade?

As it stands now, I've turned Audyssey off completely as it has made things worse. (I'll have to re-configure when I get a proper mic stand and centre speaker stand). So dynamic volume is off.

Do I need a sub upgrade?

I have tried playing with the phase switch, although I have been recommended by forums online and sound pros to leave the phase on 0 when doing Audyssey, especially since my subs are both in the front of the room. Sub crossover is on the maximum (hence the receiver is controlling the crossover)...

Do I need a sub upgrade?

Thanks for the response - is there anything that could be done to improve the mid bass (besides for a very expensive speaker upgrade)?

Do I need a sub upgrade?

Thanks for the response - Sorry if I came across unclear, but I meant to say that the bass is anything but boomy in my room. It is just lacking a lot oomph. I find that the cinema produces better sounds in both the punches and the explosions. It's hard to explain, but when that punch is thrown...

Do I need a sub upgrade?

Hi, I recently got a new home theatre system. My system consists of the Polk Rti-A5 fronts, Csi-20 centre and Rti-A1 surrounds. I have 2x Jamo sub300s for LFE duty. My room size is 6m x 4m. I went to a cinema the other night, and I noticed something really interesting - the bass response in...

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

Thanks a mil again for the help! I actually bought the speakers through a retailer that isn't in Joburg (he gave great advice tho, and was very helpful during my buying process), so I can't really get him to come take a look unless I fly him down. I did some experimenting today - Invited 2...

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

Thanks for the info. 1) The typical song first starts with drums etc (bassy instruments), and they sound fantastic. So definitely no problem there. Once the vocals come on, it sounds like someone set the EQ for +15db on all the high frequencies. 1) I don't know how much further away from the...

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

The extreme would be getting a different set of speakers - do you think that would solve the problem? Maybe look for a set that is known to be warmer (would have to do some research as not really sure which brand is 'warm'). It's like I put on a song that begins with mid-bass and lows, and I...

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

Highly doubt it. The one side of the room is 60% certain. All couches are fabric, not leather, and the bottom of the room is carpeted by a thick carpet. See a picture of the room here: http://geewiz.co.za/temp/room.html

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

Turned it down to -10db. Helps a bit, but the speakers still sound too bright :(

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

So what's the solution? Are you changing your speakers? I had the TSI-400 fronts, CS10 center and TSI-100 surrounds, before I upgraded to the RTI range. The Tsi's didn't sound as large and as detailed, but I didn't pick up any brightness with them? Why would Polk make their higher range...

Projector Top and Bottom Black Bars

Hi, I've searched on Google, but can't seem to find any definite solution. I have an Optoma HD66 projector with a matte white, pull-down screen. Most movies are in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. When played on my projector, they have black bars on the top and bottom similar to this...

    Onkyo receiver with Rti-A5 speakers

Hi, My setup is as follows: Fronts: Polk Audio Rti-A5 Center: Polk Audio Csi-A6 Surrounds: Polk Audio Rti-A1 Subs: Jamo Sub300 x2 Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR708 I just recently got all the above when I upgraded my home cinema. I use my setup mainly for HT use. I have already run the Audyssey...

    Onkyo TX-NR708 Audyssey levels problem

Phase control is at the back and is set to 0. Volume is adjusted by a knob in the front of the sub, and I have turned that all the way to the left - ie, the lowest volume.

    Onkyo TX-NR708 Audyssey levels problem

Please copy and paste the link manually into the browser, it should then work. The dining room is in the adjacent room, so no noise from there. EDIT: Link fixed, should work fine now... or alternatively, try: http://geewiz.co.za/temp/room.html
