Rectron say that Sony won't refund, only replace or repair. The shop I bought the original unit from would have to refund but as I bought it on line I very much doubt they would do that.

The Technician has identified that the HDMI board is faulty. My first DN 1050 packed up after two months and Sony replaced it with my current receiver about three months ago. Bye bye Sony.

The HDMI connection (INPUT) for the TV is not connected. TV connected to HDMI OUT on the AVR.

From what I remember, I selected "auto" when the BD and AVR were switched off, although switching the PVR off actually seems to put it in standby mode as the channel number displayed changes to the time. I did this with coax disconnected and HDMI still connected.

The projector has two HDMI ports. What if I connected the cable to the other port? Could this maybe work? Also, if I re-connect the TV to the AVR's Sat/CATV input would the AVR's menu not maybe appear on the TV?

No load shedding this morning? I did what you suggested. Switched off BD and PVR, selected auto, then switched on while pressing the BD button. I also disconnected the BD's HDMI connection. I reconnected the coax cable. End result, coax still assigned to BD and still no signal to projector.

The manual is unclear about many things (or is it me?) I will try what you suggest tomorrow. If I reverted to my original connection, PVR into AVR instead of TV - could this possibly get the signal to projector back to normal?

I find navigating through the menu options on the AVR display very confusing and the manual does not help. Here are some options displayed: INPUT - input mode / auto / coax HDMI - 4k scaling / off / ctrl HDMI / pass thru I don't believe the other menu items are relevant.
