    Two way HDMI switch query.

When you say assign coax to TV, it could be assigned to any of the remote's input buttons as the HDMI TV input jack is not in use. I do not need to watch the BD on TV, but I would like to view the AVR's menu on the TV. The fact that the TV is connected to the AVR's OUT jack must surely mean that...

jvr, I can scroll through the amp menu on the AVR's display and can probably change settings from here. First item is "Auto Cal" right arrow will start calibration. Other menus as follows: level/speaker/input/surround/EQ/Zone/Audio/HDMI/BT/ and system.

That that would surely mean connecting TV IN to AVR IN - my TV does not have a TV output jack. Now, I switched on my projector and blu-ray and besides the DSTV sound coming through, there is now no HDMI signal reaching the projector. Presumably this would not occur if I disconnect the coax cable.

If Naughty is correct in saying that HDMI audio takes precedence over coax audio then there should be no DSTV audio When playing a blu ray as my projector and blu-ray both feed to the AVR via HDMI cables. I checked out HD cabling and the basic 1 to 2 splitter sells for R139 but OUT OF STOCK...

    Two way HDMI switch query.

Yes, I did run the speakers setup. I have just selected the correct input on the TV then pressed HDMI output button on the remote. There are three options, HDMI A, HDMI B and HDMI A and B. None produced at picture/menu on the TV. I then switched the PVR to standby mode, held down the remote's TV...

I said assigning the BD input button to audio coaxial connection was not a problem to me but I have just thought of something. When watching a movie on my blu-ray player am I going to also get the DSTV sound from the PVR? jvr, Once again I will study your suggestions. Maybe I should view the...

    Two way HDMI switch query.

jvr, I'm happy to keep the coax connection assigned to the BD input button. (no need to switch the blu-ray on.) It's just a matter of remembering this. I guess I will try my luck with a splitter. Thanks once again.

There is no remote button for OSD. I have been contemplating another possible option. Instead of a switched HDMI splitter as previously discussed, I thought that a normal 1 to 2 splitter with no switch connected to the PVR, may solve this problem. If I connect the splitter to the PVR out jack...

    Two way HDMI switch query.

jvr, the channels you mention indicate "multi channel" on the AVR, but channel 202, the cricket channel, indicates "dolby digital" Selecting the correct HDMI input on the TV, the screen remains blank. Naughty, I press the amp menu button and "auto" is displayed on the AVR.

jvr, if what you are explaining above was purely to have access to my system's surround speakers then connecting a coaxial cable was a success. I switched the AVR on and the TV sound immediately filled these speakers. I can now adjust TV speakers and surround speakers independently. My primary...

Thanks jvr, I will print your comments, study them, then give it a bash.

    Two way HDMI switch query.

jvr, I have just squeezed in behind my Hi Fi unit with a spot light and a magnifying glass. I can now confirm that the PVR has, in fact, got a audio coaxial jack. (apologies for misleading everyone) However, my AVR has five HDMI IN jacks and the remote has buttons corresponding to these. There...

jvr, I will try your suggestion, coax from AVR to PVR. I do have RCA cables with yellow plugs. Would that be OK or do I need to buy something more specific?

I'm looking for an image of my PACE DV3 PVR, but none seem to be the same as mine, anyway, how does one upload on this forum?

jvr, your first two options where PVR is connected directly to AVR is what has in the past been the cause of occasional picture loss on TV. The PVR does not appear to have a jack titled coax or digital, just a single RCA type jack called "video".

    Two way HDMI switch query.

Thanks guys for your input. My confusion has increased. Firstly, I have just viewed images of switch boxes online. 3 port boxes I saw are all marked as inputs, but I seem to require two outputs? Allowing for my limited knowledge, would this be the route from the PVR to TV? AVR OUT / HDMI cable...

    Two way HDMI switch query.

You are saying I need two output jacks, one to the TV and one to the receiver. That's the problem, all switch boxes seem to have only one output jack. In a previous post titled " loss of TV picture" I explained that connecting the PVR directly to the receiver was the cause of the problem. That...

    Two way HDMI switch query.

I wish to connect my TV and AV receiver to my PVR decoder's HDMI OUT jack and be able to switch between the two. My confusion stems from the fact that all three devices would require three HDMI OUT jacks on the switch box. All I find advertised are switches with one OUT jack and a couple of...

    Regular loss of TV picture.

I have found that a few days can pass without picture loss, but not on channel 323, the music channel. I have just been testing it and the picture was lost twice in half an hour. Changing to another music channel and things have been fine for four hours now. I wish I could understand the logic...
