What's the difference between a PA amp and a Hi Fi amp ? Disregarding the fan and binding posts etc . Internally what makes them "different" ? You can get a high power PA amp for relatively small money . That same power in a HiFi amp would cost  an arm and a kidney . Would a decent hifi pre-amp...

:headbanger:Oops ! Fone gone mental again ........ One is an A-5 , and the other a SA-520 .

The original was printed /silkscreened on the TT . It's a Yamaha P-450 . The previous owner used a harsh cleaning agent and the print was removed , and the paint damaged . Thinking about respraying the TT . Thought that any genuine Yamaha badge off a old speaker or component will look authentic .

A real David vs Goliath battle , and I wouldn't disagree with you .Think it has to do with all the other senses , except sound . The look ,especially the wood case . The weight , all those shiny knobs . Maybe because it's a reminder of high school days .?  Like driving a GTI vs a vintage...
