    Good/bad experience with hifi salesmen

Yep,...Sony shop at menlyn didn't know they had an ES range.....and they did have one amp on the floor. A good salesman doesn't sell, he makes the customer buy....

Technics is back.....not sure if with a vengeance though...

Popped in to sound and image and was surprised to see a very impressive stereo setup....was told that technics is back into high end hifi....their top end system cost a cool R500 000.00, for a processor, power amp and two rather tall speakers. Had a quick listen and it sounded quite good...

What Dixon and Bose have in common

Popped in to the B&O store in sandton last week for a listen to their home theatre/hifi speakers, those ones up to R150 k, ......and I wasn't impressed at all except they looked quite retro.

    Is Chi-Fi here to stay...

Guys, My honest opinion, it's not going to be long before we see fully fledged chineses brands alongside their western and Japanese counterparts in high end stores. It's just a matter of time...from what I can see at the moment is that a lot of these 'high end' chinese companies are battling...

Why Power Cables Make a Difference

    Sony ES Speakers

Certainly gonna do that, my last experience was enough to convince me. Thanks for the support. I listen to classical a lot, so clarity and fullness of sound is important at low volumes. Will listen on to see what further power amp recommendations come through...

    Sony ES Speakers

Hi, Room size about 5 x 5 meters. Using mostly for stereo and occasionally home theatre. This speaker is rated at 4 ohm, will have to check the sensitivity. I just have a feeling that a decent power amp will be more revealing and bring out the best in them. My last experience wasn't good with...

    Sony ES Speakers

Hi All, Want to get some opinions on the sony ss na2es floor standers. I took a chance and  bought them and the matching centre at digital experience recently on sale for a really good price, R34 k for the set. The floor standers were launched for about R100 k and now sell for about R50 k on...

    Is Chi-Fi here to stay...

I have also seen and been warned about fakes/copies from so called reputed sellers. What I found informative was that the OEM SITE, now gives a dealer listing. Was at hfx systems last year and heard a jungson (on their second hand list) connected to a sonus faber, and it sounded pretty good....

    Is Chi-Fi here to stay...

Hi all, New to the forum, so this is my first post. Have been investigating some power and integrated amp options and am interested in some of the more popular Chinese brands, Dussun, Jungson, etc. what's the opinion on their value and performance relative to the more established brands. Owned...
