I don't think we have actively watched any SABC TV channels (any terrestrial) since late 2011.  We gave up DSTV around mid 2013 too.  Hardly listen to the radio too. So that's a no.

Very interesting - didn't realise the display needed to be that big.  Certainly something to take into consideration.  I must say, seeing that one could start off with a humble projector setup in the +- R10k region makes it quite favourable.

I would suggest looking at Afrihost's options. Best bang for buck when it comes to 3G data. They on the MTN network, so use their network coverage to check if your area has a strong enough signal.

I'm with Afrihost as my ISP at home - 4Mb uncapped.  I did 896GB last month. I also have a Mifi device with their 5GB at R145/month which I use on the go. I'm happy to say that service has been good.  If there's been an issue, if, it's been resolved super quickly.
