Thanks for the replies. The valve is new. The noise only occurs for a few minutes on start up and then the amp is very quiet so it is not too worrying right now but seeing as the amp is 30 years old I reckon it is due for a service.

I have an Audio Research LS1 line stage hybrid design pre-amplifier that is a getting noisy on start up. Any suggestions as to who can service this amp in the Cape Town area?

Good Day All My first post. I am looking for a new belt for an AR XE TT. I know I can get one via Amazon or suchlike but I am wondering if anybody has one here in SA. I tried the Turntable Guy here in CT but he has none. Any help appreciated.
