    Lcd, Led or Plasma

I love the colours and picture refresh on my 50'' Panasonic Plasma. Do need to close the curtains though because I couldn't afford the anti-glare screen. Also depends on the make of Plasma, LCD or LED you buy. You?ll have to suffer somewhere either on feature or on cost  :)

Better speaker cable and Onkyo 806 getting hot

Does your speakers have a threat to screw spikes into the feet? Often they do. Mine have an 8 mm threat. I didn't want to damage my wooden floor. So I bought 8mm s/s (stainless steel bolts) (looks a little smarter than galvanised bolts), stuck a "Glass Skid Protector" (transparent rubber pad) on...

    DVD Player Laser Test

When buying second hand DVD/BluRay players one never knows how used the laser is. Does anybody have any idea how to find out how "worn" the laser is?

    Onkyo dv-sp503e

Nice player, worth it's money. Unfortunately, hasn't got HDMI port. Coax or optical will do for sound. Once you have to replace the laser it will set you back about R1k. Not sure how you will find out the condition of the laser though.
