    You can get heatshrink at Builders Warehouse in the electrical section, and I just bought black cable sleeving at RS Electronics for, if I remember correctly, R14 odd  for a five metre piece prepacked.

    You're right. As long as you can get the alignment right. On the TD150 and TD160's you can't set the base up as per the template anyway.

    Looks cool! Any reason why you fitted the SME sliding base going straight down the armboard as opposed to it lining up with the centre of the platter as the mounting template shows? Also see pics below.
