I've got the D550 -1080p, 3D, non-smart.  My mate has the E450 non-3d, non-smart, 720p. To be honest, althought they are in quite different environments, with HD DSTV content, I can't tell the difference. Unless you're gonna watch 1080p content up REAL close, it's a no brainer.

Set up mine a couple of weeks ago.  XBMC Eden final running under Win 7 32bit. I did try WMC but it doesn't even come close. Using the N40L as standard except for a HD 6450, an LG Blu Ray writer, and an extra 5tb of discs  :) There's a modded version of Eden final with fully working HD audio...
