    INEOS Grenadier

I do not think they bought the tooling. The fact that Land Rover declined to sell the tooling prompted him to design a new vehicle from scratch. He bought a Mercedes plant to build them. https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/ineos-automotives-defender-inspired-4-x-4-1234625405/

    Shipping from USA to SA

I have had almost the exact same experience with them. Will not use them again. When things go wrong you are in for a world of frustration

Wow...this is something interesting to watch...

Rega is such an excellent brand. I have commented on this before but they just do things right and have not succumbed to overcharging. The value you get from a Rega compononent is always more than expected for the price. Solid engineering.

    Floor-standing speakers with a R140k budget?

I heard this a month ago. Amazing experience. Had I R140k to spend on Hifi this would be high on the list

    Rain 5G

Rain is extremely area dependant. It actually does not matter what other people experience since it does not necessarily have a bearing on what you will get. I had Rain for three months. Extremely unreliable and slow. Mtn LTE was much faster and more stable. Someone who lived 2 blocks away was...

Iconic products - those gems that passed through your life

I would put forward the Rega Brio. An amplifier that sets out to do what it was designed for perfectly and with no fuss. Nothing on it is superfluous and it just works. The result of many years of incremental improvement. It has great energy and makes music come alive. Not the last word on...

Hifi Art - great photos of equipment

Nice photograph and composition but the white object on the left that is cut of draws the eye away from the main subject and detracts from the picture.

    Ethernet cables

This reminds me of a song from Britney Spears that everyone knows and no one listened to.... Preventing the danger of @pwatts repeated his layer 1 comment yet again. As you succinctly put it, "digital is digital", no one is disputing that. In fact @pwatts strongly states that this is not about...

    Ethernet cables

I few years ago I was involved in a study to model music perception in people with cochlear implants. Cochlear implant users cannot appreciate music and the resolution does not support the dynamic nature of music, specifically in the time domain. The science of music perception is in its...

    Ethernet cables

What interests me is what difference there would be between wireless and cable connections to the streamers. If I understand @pwatts correctly the cable has noise in the analog domain which filters through the audio chain. Wireless should not have this issue. There might be other issues of...

    Apple Lossless. A journey to?

I just want to say that reading your rambling stories very often makes my day a little bit better by putting a smile on my face.
