I own a shuffle as pictured above as well as a 4g and 5g 20gb and 80gb respectively. What i've found is that the shuffle is really good for getting to know your music, you can't search for a particular song so you just listen. With the other 2 i tend to go looking for my favourite songs instead...

The one thing I have noticed (this counts for all tv's) is that a darkened room gets rid of a lot of the contrast type issues. I have noticed that grays are dark, but in a darkened room the picture is perfect for me.

I own the Sony, and I'm really happy with it. The picture quality is gorgeous and I've had no issues. I cannot speak for the Philips, so if I was you I would try to demo them side by side to see the differences. If that is not possible then I would go for the Sony based on my own experience...

I have a pair of HD465's that I got for a little over R500 in Cresta. The sq is way better than the 202's and they're open backed and foam, so you can wear them for a lot longer. We buy a pair of 202's as a starting gift for every new developer we hire and they are pretty good as well though.
