    HDD media server choice

Yes that's also a factor to consider wrt to fw support. have checked on the Compro website and they have a recent fw update for it too. They both have little things that the other doesn't but essentially similar overall. I think whats pushing me towards the Mede8er, is their forum support and...

    HDD media server choice

    Buy AV equipment online?

Holy crap Ken, that made me cringe seeing that photo, especially with the VIERA sticker in the corner. I get down on my knees and thank the Lord I have never had that issue with couriers.

I thought so too. As I had Panafrique quoting only on the 50" as they had no stock. And several local retailers (Durban) asking for R19k for the 42". I'm very happy with the unit, I'm still watching on the presets, after tinkering with them, and the 600hz motion flow is a pleasure.

@Ken, This is the asia model, so I dont know if that's what the reason was for no THX. I'll say this though, that the "Cinema" & "Tru Cinema" modes are more than enough. @dotvibe, I paid R13999 for this. The 50" is between R24K & R26K. For my viewing distance, this 42" is the biggest I will go.
