Can anyone recommend a geyser conversion company in Cape Town? And are the PV conversions worth it?

It will be a Deye inverter, which I believe is the same thing. I actually currently have my geyser controlled by a Shelly 1PM - but just timer function.

Like winter - where I am in Blouberg the son is quite low in winter - and we have a flat roof house, not sure how efficient the 30 degree pitch will be. Another question - we currently have a full electric geysers, I'm waiting for it to go so the insurance will cover some of the conversion...

I was actually thinking about that - is it worth buying the "cheap" units each month to stock up on?

Yeh, its a bit high, but pricing the various components quoted on at various online stores - I get to within 15% of that. (cabling/db board/30 degree angle brackets, etc) When I went through the same exercise in August/early September, it was about R40k less. :(

Just an update on this, new quote for 20x panels and 4x batteries = R305k

I think 20 panels is about the max - but - I have asked for an updated quote doubling the batteries (4x) and 20 panels. They quoted on Hubble AM2 batteries - which seem to get mixed reviews, depending on who I chat to.

Ah, sorry, yes, I'm using those fibre "bricks" that directly replace sand. Think it's also eco fibre.
