Is it possible for different hard surfaces to affect bass drastically?

I'll post pictures of the room from before and after a bit later to show the differences...., At this stage I'm tired of struggling and thinking of ordering audio transducers to attach to the couch :p

Is it possible for different hard surfaces to affect bass drastically?

We re-tilled our house (so tiles to other tiles) - but now the bass in my rooms seems... emtpy.... no longer shaking windows and doors.  Tried moving the subs - didn't make a difference, reran audyssey, reset the receiver, etc. Thought maybe something had happened to both subs, so tried playing...

Optoma HD20 12v trigger - to Optoma screen

Finally made the adapter, works 100%. Used a mono-audio 3.5mm audio socket, correct size power plug (had to take the projector in twice, the first time they fitted one, then gave me a different one  :headbanger:) - and a piece of wire I had lying around. Screen comes down perfectly when the...

Alarm Advice - again - exterior

Thanks for the info.... I still have to figure out the garden - its not a major concern at this stage as the dogs are usually in it during the day, but at night they're inside, and it it leads directly to the bedrooms My initial plan was to put a PMD85 under the patio area in the corner

Alarm Advice - again - exterior

Problem with this is it'd be exposed from the top and open to tampering (although the neighbour does have an electric fence) The DG85 is wired isn't is? I can't run wires - I've had endless hassles with the existing wired solution, just getting it in was a pain of the arse. Wired is the...

Alarm Advice - again - exterior

Thanks Chris - I think you've recommended those before for another part of my house. You've got it right on my shed door though - not a major problem, I might be moving the shed and replacing with a water tank. I'd be worried though that the angle would miss the bedroom windows, maybe one...

Alarm Advice - again - exterior

I've got a Takex wireless  beam by the pool - which has been great... Just not sure how to get the best coverage in the area above, without spending more than a new alarm :p

    Vitality Discovery benefits.

We have it purely for the gym benefit - both on Virgin Active Premier - if it wasn't for that I'd be long gone from Discovery. You have to commit to it for quite sometime to "settle" the joining fee. I swim - so my choices for convenient gyms is pretty much limited to Virgin Active.  My wife...

Alarm Advice - again - exterior

Always get and read good advise here relating to alarm configure - so here's another request for advice. I'd like to arm the back of the house - it'll most likely need to be wireless. The area along the house walls are ragged. The area I'd like armed in RED, the BLUE gates are normal garden...

Wireless technology for speakers/subs - any progress?

I don't think bluetooth is fast enough? Going to try move the subs next to the speakers  - see what it does to the sound... although I'd like the one sub at the back, its not the end of the world if I can get decent sound by just moving them.

XTZ Room Analyzer - results, what do they mean?

Any tips on how best to use the app would be great, e.g. what mode the amp should be in, should it only be using the front channels, should the subs be on, etc.

XTZ Room Analyzer - results, what do they mean?

Forgot I bought this on the forum quite sometime ago - plugged in for the first time today to see what it does. Not 100% sure how to use it - maybe someone on the forum would be kind enough to explain. I've measured the room in two mods, one where the amp is set to Direct - I believe just the...

Wireless technology for speakers/subs - any progress?

There seem to be quite a few. Including one listed on the svs site. I do not think I'm doing my room justice with my subs where they are. Going to try move them next to the mains and see if the sound improves.

Wireless technology for speakers/subs - any progress?

I know in the past it hasn't been a great idea to use wireless to put speakers/subs in places where cables can't reach - has any progress been made with regards to this? I'd really like to move my one subwoofer to the back of the room - but I can't run a cable. I'd like to try one in each...

Be careful with the firmware upgrades... breaks things from what I've read.
