Well not so much if it's worth anything but a friend asked me to get it playing again. It was her grandfathers record player and obviously there is a sentimental value for her. But is it worth it to really make this record player shine again? She said if it's a cheap player then she'll consider...

Just to add: My lounge is open plan and the dedicated listening room was a bedroom. I think another smaller lounge (open plan) in the house would have worked even if it was 3m X 3m. The bedroom was just not working for me as a dedicated room. I run my AV and stereo setup both in the lounge...

I really like the practicality of this Intel NUC. It ticks all the boxes and I will have endless possibilities with different software that I can use. Very good suggestion.

Well the reason I'm asking about the DAC is that I need to sell my current DAC to be able to afford this in a sensible way. (Rega DAC which I'm very happy with). I promised myself that my current system is perfect and I don't need to upgrade anytime soon but then again what's the fun in...

Oh wow!!! would love to test this in my system. Wonder how good the DAC is on it...... So if I connect my phonostage output into the analogue input of this will I be allowed into the vinyl area in heaven one day?

Thanks guys It looks like the wandboard is an option for me. Or build up a very small desktop PC and hide it away.

And the wandboard but I will have to have a tablet then as a remote.

Hi Muse Or the SB Touch with tablet like your setup but then I lose the UI on the TV. The SB touch seems to be the only solution with USB audio out. Other than a PC based system.

Awesome that they selling vinyl!! Had a party last weekend at my spot and was flipping vinyls only. Convinced all without saying a word that the vinyl just had more feel and soul than digital. And no we didn't smoke anything weird. I'm just saying.....
