I've got three separates. 47uf x 3 @ 400v. The trick is finding space and getting the polarity spot on. I'll post pics of my end result.

The MKT1813 - aren't required. I replaced some broken ceramic pieces. Post pics of your internals.

The reference is to a single big silver cap. 40/40/40 @ 400v. I'll attempt this myself later today. Do you think a power cable upgrade (with ground) will help?

Thanks. Found it - but didn't do anything for the hum. I found that if I flick the phase switch the hum almost doubles. I think it may require some fault finding. I've shocked twice by touching a part of the chassis - near the transformer! Tripped the lights and gave me a proper fright! Damn! :)

My Prestik fix is still working beautifully, but I would like to do something a little more permanent.

Not the source...Could be something else. I hope its the last cap that needs replacing... :) Hopefully this week sometime when my Trusty Adviser is available... :pleasant: I did see on some of the other Trio refurbs - that the guys replaced the power cable - in order to add a ground directly...

I'm not sure if this is normal for a valve amp - but I have a slight hum - very slight. If its not normal - what usually causes this?

+1 I was thinking its more like trying to re-bake a cake that didn't turn out great on the first attempt. I've stopped gathering MP3 and only focused on FLAC.

Ferodo DS. I've used EBC red and green and the Ferdodo is way more consistent. The EBC does last a lot longer though.
