Ifi i can make a suggestion. Go for cheaper carpet and get 1200gm Felt Underlay. It adds considerable depth and extra absorption behind the carpet. the normal underlay is like 600gm and is weak sauce. there also isnt much of a price dif between 600gm and 1200gm.

Have you tried the Yamaha phone app ? I am using the android app and its layout is very simple and i allows input selection from all available inputs ? See if that works and take it from there ? Just for reference im running the 2040 so your experience should be very similar.
