You can take the detour past Welkom and bypass most of the roadworks on that stretch of the N1, the Welkom road is in good condition and joins with the N1 again just before Bloem.

They are awesome turntables. The one pictured above is one I bought on this forum (can't recall from who  :thinking:), It was painted black so I decided to build a new plinth and also replaced the arm.

That sucks. Please don't junk them, I'm sure a replacement motor can be found or a suitable alternative motor.

Peechas: Just to give an indication how big the motor and (oil damping container?) is: Papst.. Top and bottom half seperated: The motor appears to be in very good condition which is a relieve because finding a replacement motor would be nigh impossible. The thrust pad on the bottom...

Generally the UK pressings are considered good, can't comment on the Greece one. Listen to both and decide for yourself.  :nfi:

I decided to remove the motor yesterday, it came off surprisingly easier than I had expected it to..it's held in place by only 3 screws. Blew out all the dust which had accumulated over the years, cleaned, re-lubricated with mineral oil and re installed it into the Dok. I also put the 33.3rpm...

Yip the motor sounded fine for the brief few seconds I had it on so as you say it probably just needs a good clean and lube. The only thing I have yet to test is the platter lift and idler wheel engage solenoids.

Not really, had a few other projects that required my attention so the Dok had to be put on hold for a bit.. I plan on removing the motor this weekend to give it a service, will take some photos and update the thread afterwards. I'm also still trying to source a replacement headshell for the...
