    Powerful amps and power conditioners

I read somewhere that power amps loose out when connected to conditioners. And my amplifier's user manual says I should not connect it to an extention. So my amps are connected directly on wall sockets with surge protectors. Everything else is on a conditioner. Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

Auto Room EQ vs Parametric/Graphic EQ

On my old Onkyo AVR I preferred manually tweaking the treble and bass levels, then used mini-dsp for the sub. The auto room correction was ok, but didn't prefer it. Now since using a preamp that comes with Dirac Live, I simply can not live without it. I let it do most of the correction then I...

Which speaker ticks all your listening demands? Mine is the Beolab 5

You are right, you cant just get your ankles wet with the 800 series. To get the best out of them you will also need a decent amplifier that will meet the demands. Luckily I had the right amplifier, for a steal I should add, way before I got my hands on the 803. In fact, looking at it I kinda...

Which speaker ticks all your listening demands? Mine is the Beolab 5

Hi TimbaLand, I'm coming from the old 703s. I haven't listened to the new stuff. I'm sure the new stuff will introduce a whole lot of boxes to tick, that I didn't know exist [emoji16] Im also driving them with an equally oldish amp, with a more recent preamp of a "lower" league. Im loving the...

Which speaker ticks all your listening demands? Mine is the Beolab 5

My recently acquired B&W 803 Nautilus combined with my diy built tapped horn subwoofer ticks all the boxes I had. I don't know what I don't know, till I listen to a speaker that introduces a new box to tick or even a different preamp. But I must say that the jump from 703s to 803N was way...

It's a pleasure. On your phone's app store search for "Kore". The app will also give you instructions on how to link it with your Kodi. It's quiet straight forward. There are a couple of these remote apps but Kore is the official remote app for Kodi. Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

I use Tidal with Kodi and use a Kodi remote on my phone. Try solutions around what you already have first. Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

    Speaker Placement

When measuring the distance from the front wall do you measure from the back of the speaker or the front? Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

AVR - dialogue clarity solution required

One advice I was given for my center, which is relatively large, is to run it on a bridged amp which helps to project voices. In fact the guy couldn't stress it enough. Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

    Skyline diffusers

windshear is right that if it's wood based and targeting mid/lower requencies it will be very heavy, especially for a ceiling even if you make multipe small ones. I saw super light polystyrene (moulded) version at HFX, not sure how effective it is compared to wood but it should be more cost...

Can one over treat the room

I've been reading a lot on room treatment lately as I'm about to embark on this journey. I saw a couple of interesting videos, some of them in mixing studios, where guys cover the front of an absorption panel with plastic then a cloth on top so that the plastic reflects back high frequencies...

    Room upgrade

This is great stuff. Nicely executed. What are the room's dimensions? The three rows of seats suggest it's nice and long Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

    Room upgrade

What are the dimensions of the red panels? They seem to dwarf what looks like 803's... Is it the standard 120/60cm? Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk
