    Room upgrade

Also following with interest. My system sounds good without treatment and I'm looking forward to hear it with treatment. I had bass traps at my previous place, which was a small space, and the bass was super tight and fast. I hope to achieve that again. Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk

    Room upgrade

This is good Timbaland. I am inspired! I bought a roll of 50mm rockwool and it's been sitting for almost a month. I'll be putting it to use soon after sourcing a cloth, thanks again. Looks like we have the same wall color and the same front speakers [emoji16] Looking forward to more photos and...

Rotel RB 976 - Power Amp

Saw it on sale on AVSA. Did a quick research... Looks potent for not demmanding speakers and in a smallish room. I was more interested in bridging it and use it to power my surrounds. The only reason I didnt grab it was because it lacked the 12v trigger feature that its MK II counterpart has.

Streaming equipment - why pay through your nose?

So me and you agree that achieving a quiet PC requires more money and more research. The topic is why do people pay a lot of money for streamers when normal PCs or even cheap streamers can do the same thing. Simply put, to get your quiet PC in a small box, without assembling it yourself after...

Streaming equipment - why pay through your nose?

Back in 2010/11 I built a gaming grade HTPC. Powerful GPU, CPU, matched RAM, ect.. Purely as a streamer as I already had a low spec Linux machine running 24/7 serving 0s and 1s. I'll tell you this, my HTPC is anything but quiet. It has a bit of static noise which till today I have no clue how...

    Small changes and big differences.

This true and I wish I could align my front speakers that way. What prevents me from doing that is having the tv too high for comfort. I'd rather have the most comfortable viewing height and compromise just a little bit on center's positioning and compensate by tilting it up a little. Sent from...

Difference in sound between 2 AVRs

My journey has been going from a pretty decent AVR, to preouts, to doing HT bypass with a dedicated stereo preamp and a dedicated stereo dac. I eventually bought a preamp with separate borads for stereo and surround. It simplified things and both stereo and surround sound fantastic. Still using...

    Standby vs Completely off

I have two power conditioners. One for equipments that are always on or on standby, the other for stuff that I turn off completely when not in use. My two power amps are not on power conditioners, just behind a surge protector, but I also turn them off completely. After the advice about the...

Placement and equalization before room treatment

We experience and share  I've been thinking about adding a second sub. Been considering a second tapped horn, but it's a serious build. I might endup doing an IB. Two of them possibly. Been enjoying the current placement. The wall that it's against looks better since there's now...

Placement and equalization before room treatment

I've moved into a place that has a decently sized room and ceiling height. I basically connected my system and did no equalization and just switched back to the preamp's default presets. I held back on equalization because I wanted to replace the damaged center's tweeter first. The only thing I...

Hesitantly posting my setup for the first time. Fresh from hospital for two months, enjoying the music and sound. Excitement says I should share... Room: 6 by 6 by 2.5 meters Seating is 2.5m from the rear wall. Absolutely no acoustic treatment. No equalization since we moved in a year ago...

    The stereo room build

Great clean setup. I'm planning to do room treatment early next year. Did you make the wall panels yourself? If so, could you please share the detail: Material used, type of cloth, panel thickness, etc... Thanks Sent from my AMN-LX9 using Tapatalk
