First speakers I built were open baffle. Not great.
Owned a pair of Emerald Physics. 2x 15" drivers & horn tweeter. Great.
Best rear speakers in a home theatre.
I think open baffle will also be great as Atmos speakers. BUT > Not suitable for anything else in HT

If you attend live music events, and then listen to the same music on any system you will know we have far to go to reach "satisfaction".
Dynamics is the biggest shortfall. True/accurate...
With the Rand depreciating the DSTV content will sharply increase in cost. So R1000+ pm subscripton is on the horizon.

The interesting part is the money value comparisons. 2 to 4x $399 subs sound as good if not better than one good $2000 sub? $800 vs $2000
