This is just a discussion regarding the benefits and attained efficiencies of attaching external power amplifiers to AVR Pre OUts.  I have no desire to play that loud.

The power amps I use with the Denon X4500H Classe CA-300 Sensitivity: 1.65 Volts in for rated output Not sure what the Denon delivers from the L and R Pre Out but if it is also 1.1V then I am not getting my rated output from the Power amp and maybe a bunch of noise included for good measure.

May be a problem due to being an edge lit model (Q60R is an edge lit model they become FALD from the Q70R) I do not have a problem with detail in dark scenes on a  FALD display model, ( Q80R).

I second or third what has been said here, LS50 demand the ancillary gear be of a high standard to get the best out of them.  With the wrong amplification they can sound thing and edgy. The Kef LS50 are also imho more of an edge of the seat listen rather than a lean back and close your eyes...
