I presume you want to isolate your amp from the test equipment's mains supply. If your concern is loadability, the alternative would be to put your test equipment onto the isolation transformer instead (assuming that they draw less power than the power amp).
I agree with Brain's suggestions. I recommend that you resist going all-out with this build. The SEAS ER15RLY with a tweeter of the same performance level can make a very satisfying speaker. Here is some info (pic) from a local FB ad that offers reasonably good tweeters:
Simplest is to connect the secondaries of the respective transformers together, then the primaries of the transformers become your input and output, respectively. Also, your proposed way would work. All this assuming that the primaries were originally spec'ed for 230VAC.
If you only ever listen at low volumes, then you can set up your system for the appropriate "Fletcher-Munson" tonal balance as advised above. One can often tune bass response by adjusting the distance of the speakers to the front wall. Upper frequency bias can be achieved with toe in/toe out...
It's the same process as headlight restoration. Sanding down the material to the level of the depth of the scratches, then using progressively finer water paper and finally finishing with buffing compound. Just keep the polisher speed slow, as too much heat will ruin your efforts.
Will never consider HP again. Firmware tricks to render the printer useless or force you into buying only their expensive cartridges.
Loved the 8600 until I ran into their skullduggery.
Your post just prompted me to go look up Richard Nwamba, whose show I used to enjoy on SAFM on Saturdays. Sad how easy it is to miss out on our own continent's rich offerings. I don't know this artist, but from the first samplings on Spotify... Wow!
I'm don't know what value you'll get these days, but in 2019 my older son got a very nice BMW using the Uber Black service - exact same purpose. The driver told us that he regularly drives passengers to such functions, and was even dressed up in a dark suit.
It's not necessarily a wrong thing, as long as the user knows what's going on. I was just mildly irked, knowing from back in the day what the 7-segment display equivalent symbol is for r. Forgive me. I am a person of a certain age. 🙃
Fully agreed, @legro.
Most people are captivated within the good guy/bad guy paradigm. And sticking to their side, no matter what.
I have learned to keep listening to commentators from the opposite viewpoint, no matter how much I might secretly hate their guts. In the process, I have learned a...
The story so far...
Firstly, it was rude of me not to mention @Chingy 's help with making the two laser-cut plates for my Z-axis. Thanks, boet!
It's just about ready to receive a file for cutting activities. I have actually made 2 simple jobs for drilling the mounting holes of the wasteboard...
Philips were once well-represented in ZA (I suppose Panasonic/Technics, Pioneer, Telefunken, Blaaupunkt, etc., too...). Sintronics is the company that represented Sansui. There is a whole range of Sansui speakers that used Philips drivers. The models SU-990 and SU-880 are often sold on the used...
Yep. Electronic music challenges speakers in a way that natural instruments do not. And actual low bass(!), the kind you need a subwoofer for.
Thanks for the links.
