Anyone familiar with N9 Audio drivers?

Yes. I'm building a test box to see what's what. Also my first time working with a narrow directivity tweeter (Faital Pro FD371) and I might need to add a back-firing tweeter if it beams too much. Design objective is to have a low distortion and wide dynamic range, along with a particular...

Anyone familiar with N9 Audio drivers?

I'm really interested in knowing the quality of that driver. I already have a complement of 3 drivers to make my 3-way speakers, but I'm thinking of Plan B in case my current mid does not gel with the project.

Anyone familiar with N9 Audio drivers?

These drivers are being sold online by a company called A1Sound. Any experience with this manufacturer? https://a1sound.co.za/N9-audio-6N100-6n100 Tx

    Where to purchase replacement tweeters

What I am interested in knowing is whether buying through local distributors saves one from paying the high cost of freight and/or import duties. Anyone used these local suppliers to buy speaker drivers from Digikey?

    Solder Iron

Lead-free is a major pain, due to higher melting point and I personally find it to be less "willing" to solder. However, things have progressed and solderability might have improved with more recent products. There certainly are more fluxes and soldering accessories freely available these days.

What material is that? Simple coloured resin, or reinforced?

    Mission System 780 Argonaut

If these are the 8" Vifa-type woofers, then I still have a set of the raised plastic bezels somewhere. At one time it was promised to a fellow forum member, but nothing became of it, so I think it's OK to pass it on to the next interested person.

    Alternatives to "incandescent" test lamps?

You can ask a company that makes heaters and wirewound resistors to make up a custom load for you. Or make your own with nichrome wire.

Repair for Cyrus components - need advice please

Of course, YMMV. But, statistically speaking, the probability of one person sitting with so many faulty examples of the same product tells its own story. What I described above is a real engineering problem. How effectively the designers dealt with it (and they have the opportunity to do so, as...

Repair for Cyrus components - need advice please

Unfortunately, reliability suffers when you shoe-horn electronics into such compact enclosures. I always admired the form factor of these Cyrus products, assuming (wishfully) that they had a handle on reliability*. Only recently, with class D and its later variants, do we see proliferation of...

SARS! Now requiring MSDS for electronic components!

Latest is my boss went to their offices where it was determined that documents supplied were sufficient and that no MSDS is needed. Will see if things move forward from here on.

SARS! Now requiring MSDS for electronic components!

Thanks. We've done all of the above. But an MSDS does not exist for these ICs. We are now trying to get Fedex to pull finger instead of just passing everything on to us.

SARS! Now requiring MSDS for electronic components!

We are getting ridiculous run-around form SARS. Our electronic components are stuck in customs because they are asking for an MSDS (material safety data sheet) for parts we are importing from Microchip. Fedex is no help. One would imagine that their agents can at least push back on behalf of...
