Small vacuum tube integrated for desktop use

Here is a photo of the test rig: BTW I am using a 6N1P tube as a driver (triodes paralleled with 22k anode load and 220 ohm cathode resistor) I starrted the tests with the 807 in cathode bias mode with a 470 ohm cathode resistor. Voltage from anode to cathode is about 390 VDC The output...

Small 16 watt tube amplifier for desktop use

Hi Willem Here is the winding plan I generated from Dissident Audio's published information: I increased the stack marginally, since I only have 32mm and 40mm bobbins. So going with 40mm stack of EI96 laminations Next I rolled one layer of secondary on the empty bobbin to check how many...

Small vacuum tube integrated for desktop use

Thanks WhoIsJob, the Exceller is done and delivered. To be honest, I have a few projects running with looming deadlines, so I have to spread my attention. Yesterday I had a look at how to do the outlay of the power supply and the output stage. Thew jig is ready to be built, and tested. More in...

Small vacuum tube integrated for desktop use

I rolled a transformer as the proposed by the designer and took photos of the process: There were 6 secondary layers. To make absolutely sure they were each of the same number of windings, I checked each one separately. next I made some carton gaskets to insulate the magnetic field of the...

Small vacuum tube integrated for desktop use

Hi adie et al. I'll be posting updates here. I had a look a the power transformer specifications as on the schematic, and drew up a simulation on PSUD2. I could see on the published photo of the prototype on the Dissident Audio web site, that Yves used a 96mm core with a stack of 50mm. I...

Small 16 watt tube amplifier for desktop use

Hi All tube lovers I am building a 20 watt Single Ended amplifier on a shoestring budget. This is the specifications I want to meet or exceed: Output power: 8W*2 (superlinear connection). Frequency response: 30Hz--38KHz. Output impedance: 4,8Ω. Total harmonic distortion: ≤ 1% (1kHz). Input...

    Hohner Orgaphon 25MH restoration

I have this gem from yesteryear on my work bench for restoration. First I fixed the power amplifier situated on the bottom panel. There was a loose wire to the PL84 heaters and the bias was wildly out causing red plate on the Telefunken's. After adjusting the bias, things...

Recommendations on mini UPS to keep WiFi on

Solar Panel specifications Let me explain the power arrangement: 1. If the internal battery gets connected reverse polarity, the 10A fuse blows. 2. If the load on the DC 12V connections exceed 5A, the fuse blows to protect the pcb tracks. 3. the USB 5V can deliver 2.1A each, with a max of...

Recommendations on mini UPS to keep WiFi on

Maybe this is an option? I am marketing a small UPS/power station that supplies 12V and USB that can supply the power to my TOTOLINK I received for free when I subscribed to a fibre contract.

    Current Limiting Bulb Advise needed

A 100W bulb will limit the current to 500mA AC. That should be safe for most amplifier tests. But by all means, start with 15W and move up if the lamp glows only dimly.
