    Wanted - EL84 tube

I?m not an expert at all, but I can?t see any obvious signs of damage on the inside. It?s not rattling either, so I?m going to stop the search for a replacement until I?ve done the tests.

    Wanted - EL84 tube

Thanks, yeah I really can't wait to hear it, but this time I have to be patient. Going to see if I can find a bulb, etc. to do Family_Dog 's tests first.

    Wanted - EL84 tube

Thanks for the tip, upon closer inspection it seems that it hasn't actually burnt; it looks more like something was messed on it, and that melted. I've tested continuity between pins 4 & 5 and it's pretty much the same as one of the other 3 valves.

Always nice re-rediscovering albums. Listening through valves, and in seventh heaven.

    Wanted - EL84 tube

Hi I'm looking for preferably a 2nd hand Sovtek(can you temporarily mix & match?) EL84 tube to replace a damaged one. I'll get a new set later if this amp ends up being worth it. Preferably in the Centurion/PTA area if possible. Thanks

DIY EL84 integrated amp info, please?

Picked up what looks like a DIY project which consists of 4x EL84 and 2x ECF80 tubes. It also came with hand drawn/written schematics included. Does anyone perhaps know more about this thing? I can see one EL84 valve has burnt, but can?t see visually see anything else wrong with it. I have...

Yep, it does indeed sound seriously good, but I?m not gonna try convincing someone who?s never heard one. :)

    Pioneer SX-34Bs advice

The resistor on the far right was in very bad shape, he says I?m lucky that the transformer was still okay.

    Pioneer SX-34Bs advice

He sent me a lot of voice notes as he was going along, but from memory and looking at the bag of things I got back, it was: the main capacitors, along with some others and then the Suzuki resistors which were the actual cause of the noise on the phono stage, he luckily knew this from experience...
