    In Linux it will indicate if there is any bad sectors or pending bad sectors under the SMART tool function in disk utils, if there is you know the reason and keep it disconnected because it can go from a 95% successful recovery to a 5% in a flash. Tools like EaseUS is ok for a perfect working...

    If the drive suffers from any read errors “bad sectors” then never never run disk repairs or normal recovering software you spend hours on the drive without extracting a single bit of data. Switch of drive and plan a recovering process
