    Solar inverter & audio

Yeah, the extra MPPT's and output from the 2x 5KW will be nice in terms of expansion and flexibility. Batteries, will be the Hubble AM2 5.5KW - waiting on final figures and then will see what I can afford at the moment and later on look at adding more batteries. Most of my usage is during 7am...

    Solar inverter & audio

I'll be getting the 8kw, or perhaps 2x 5kw in parallel. As long as there is no noise on my audio equipment, then I'm happy. I have a pretty good idea on the setup already, but finalising the last few things in the planning stage and then want to start getting it going before the end of the...

    Solar inverter & audio

The install will be proper, will get an accredited installer to do it - someone who is approved to install the Sunsynk inverters and Hubble batteries etc. As long as it won't affect my sound negatively, then I am happy! That was a bit of a concern I had as I know the cheaper inverters can be...

    Solar inverter & audio

That is good to know, which brand of inverter are you using? I am likely going to go with a Sunsynk inverter. I will be trying to run off the panels and battery as much as possible, only using the grid if the panels are not producing sufficient and the battery has been discharged already.

    Solar inverter & audio

Hey all, So I am looking at putting in a solar system, will be a proper, larger, pure sinvewave solar inverter. Wondering if anyone is running off a solar inverter and whether they have had any noise issues with their audio equipment or whether any issues can be expected? Regards, Psy

A subwoofer for a horn system

Dirac I believe will correct the phase for you, the MiniDSP units compatible with Dirac are able to do FIR filters... Although not through the MiniDSP software, only through the Dirac software. Something to possibly look into if you want to. 99db as being the peak spl on your bass, for me...

A subwoofer for a horn system

I've certainly noticed the same, there is certainly something magical about high efficiency drivers, paper cones, powerful motors. I stuck a 15" Faital driver in the car as an IB subwoofer to try achieve something similar in my car. The issue I experienced though was the excursion limit being...

    Modified sine wave & amp

Ahh, so not a good idea then. I will leave the amp on the mains power and during load shedding either use the TVs speakers or the small bluetooth type speaker. I am sure the rest of the electronics shall be fine on the modified sinewave inverter.

    Modified sine wave & amp

This was my thinking too, but a quick google and a post on the DIY Audio forum suggested otherwise - but it was for a valve amp... I know motors dislike modified sinewave, so I make sure to avoid plugging anything like that into the inverter - but it's mostly for electronics and perhaps a light...

    Modified sine wave & amp

Hey all! So I have a small modified sinewave inverter with a biggish battery for load shedding but am unsure whether it would be fine to connect my Harmon Kardon amp to? Most of what is connected to it all run off DC and have their own SMPS build in (TV, router, PC, DSP etc.) however with...

    Run flat tyres

A run flat tyre can be plugged provided you didn't drive on it for long without air. They do a mushroom plug, so take the tyre off and plug it from the inside. A lot cheaper than replacing the tyre. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Best place to sell 2nd hand high end audio gear.

If not these AV Forums, then AVSA, Carbonite and maybe a specific group on Facebook (not the market place). I would avoid OLX, Gumtree and FB Market place and most of the FB audio groups as its full of people worshipping Technics gear from who knows when...

    Weekend woofer build

Seems like a pretty awesome build actually. Which Seas drivers are you using? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    Run flat tyres

You get a smaller bmw spare tyre, large enough to fit over the larger brake calipers and such but smaller than your typical tyre and this can be used as a spare in the case of emergencies and shouldn't take up the entire boot. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    Run flat tyres

I use to think the same, but run flats have their place for sure. When I got a puncture in my one run flat, the only reason I knew is because my car told me there was a tyre with low pressure. Hitting a pot hole with a normal tyre can lead to a blow out, a lot less likely to happen with run...

    Samsung The Frame vs Q70?

Not sure how practical something like this is really, at least for the average everyday person and home. I can imagine such a unit serving as a double function in an apartment for an executive in Sandton or similar. In an average home though, not too sure. I certainly wouldn't pay a premium for it.

My power amp blew a channel

Who is Roland and where are you based? A long as the components are still available, shouldn't be too bad. Really depends what is blown and how many components.

    %0 Post Rule on Classifieds

I have been on multiple forums for over a decade now, not very active on most and I become a lurker at times and there are times where I just become inactive as my interests and focus shift overtime. The 50 post rule is really not unreasonable, helps keep scammers at bay - few will go through...

Zu Audio -- anyone ever heard them?

I stumbled upon their stuff before and even saw some drivers up for sale a few years back. I was quite keen on trying out the drivers, but was sold by the time I saw the thread. Where do you find just the drivers for sale?
