    Streamer for DAC

Couldn't agree more. I use an optical out from mine into a Cambridge Audio dac, sounds great IMHO. Wish I'd bought 2, I need one in the garage.

    Yamahahahaha

It has an autolube oil system (or it should have if not removed/bypassed), this is most likely the problem. This injects 2 stroke oil into the engine. If this system fails, or the reservoir runs dry, the motor will seize. The injection point is between the carburetor and the reed valves, so a...

    Yamaha CD-S2100 / CD-S3000 value

I predominantly use Tidal, but there is something to be said about playing a complete CD from beginning to end (like a record), and appreciating it. I think one tends to jump around too much when streaming, not so relaxing.

    BMW R1200 GS used

Ja, these are about the only motorcycles around I would consider buying with over 80 000 km on the clock. I have a 2009 R1200S, which is the sport bike version of the GS. Having owned many bikes (Japanese, American, English, Italian, German) the build quality on BMW (bikes) is the best I've...

    I'm sleeping easy now.

The government is waiting for the right "deal" before committing to a real plan. This is the biggest corruption opportunity yet. Only comes along every 100 years or so. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk

Old bottle of First Watch whiskey

Ja agreed, along with Johnnie Walker red, the Three Ships 5 year old is my everyday choice, indeed excellent value. I had a Famous Grouse after finishing one of these the other day, and it tasted like something that would help start a reluctant outboard in comparison. Another excellent...

Old bottle of First Watch whiskey

And 90's.... I remember as a student if you wanted a scotch in a night club (strange alternative to branners 'n coke I know), you got First Watch. It was best to stick with beer... In fact, prior to the influx of cheap scotch to SA shelves of the early 2000s (I think), this was the base point...

    %0 Post Rule on Classifieds

Yes, it is unfortunate for the quieter members that 50 posts are required, but I'm sure if you asked for input and opinions and engaged in the ensuing chats you will quickly get to 50. That's what I did and I learnt a great deal in a short period! Still going on. I've bought things for more...

Thanks all for the input thus far.

    Tidal Masters

Absolutely, I think most people I know would. It's hilarious when I tell (non-audio type) people I'm on Tidal, and they then ask why, and I say for the streaming quality, and they look at me like I'm mad.

[Steak] How do you like it?

Rump, rubbed with olive oil, coarse salt, coarse black peeper, must be room temperature. Hot fire, with a couple of stokkies on to create flames just before braaiing. Flame grill rump both sides until rare to medium rare, or to suit your taste.

    Tidal Masters

Agreed, I 've never bothered with Master quality, to me the point was to have CD quality (i.e. HiFi) available from a streaming service. It's the only reason anyone used Tidal. Chalk and cheese diff in sound quality from Normal (i.e. MP3) to Hifi, HiFi to Masters, not so much, to me anyway. As...

    Advice required on headphones selection

Thanks for the feedback. That Sony looks great, but a bit out of my anticipated budget at R6k ish. What are the thoughts on the Sennheiser 450BT @R2300, I believe this is a good price for this? https://www.takealot.com/sennheiser-hd-450bt-wireless-over-ear-headphone-black/PLID69202341

    Advice required on headphones selection

Hello comrades, I'm not a headfi kind of guy (although the concept makes a lot of sense to me), but I need to purchase a pair for travel etc. Up to now I was using a pair of wired Sony on-ears with my phone, but they got washed. Good news is the bass is far less muddy now, but it sounds a bit...

Spotify vs Tidal - nonbeliever converted

I can't imagine anyone here would choose Tidal over Spotify if it wasn't for the streaming quality. They have the market. I used Deezer briefly before Tidal, and event that interface was far better than Tidal. I can only assume that Spotify doesn't need the high res market?

What car audio? (bang for buck)

Takes me back to the 90s.... Calibra was decent then for a cheaper brand, Starsound gave me problems, probably still far better than Dixon though.

    Chromecast issues

I've also had issues casting Tidal to my chromecast audio a couple of months back. Then it just miraculously came right. Probably a phone, Tidal or chromecast update sorted it out. Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk

    Yamaha cx630 switches

I used this on my Yamaha AX-1090 when the rotary (and servo actuated from remote) selector switch gave me hassles. Considering I did not strip it but only sprayed liberally where I could, it worked remarkably well. Still fine months later. Maybe I was just lucky.
