Just as I thought Tap-To-Pay was safe - beware

I’ve found NFC payment via a mobile is far more reliable than with a bank card. Incidentally, it is notably more secure. I use Apple Pay, but most mobile device manufacturers/OS providers have something similar.

    Movies streaming

To expect a streaming a service to license and distribute every movie you want to watch for R160 a month (give or take?) is pretty unrealistic. As others have mentioned, it’s a monthly contract, so just bounce between the services you desire to meet your needs.

    Bye-bye

What a weird thread of announcement.... Maybe we should have a permanent "Epilogue" thread under the "Introductions" thread..... ;)

    Embarking on Solar Stuffs......

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this very detailed and informative response. I have touched base with Gerlach and one or two others in terms of finding good quality installers. First gent is coming along tonight to ***** and discuss options. The logic of the Sunsync/Deye everyone...

Wow...this is something interesting to watch...

Come now, its made from unknown elements, sourced from a comet that made a close pass on Jupiter. A totally legitimate sales dude then sold them the materials he sources from an extra terrestrial "friend" - who happened to be in the vascinity of Jupiter - whom he met when he made his last trip...

Solar system rental: a viable option?

The problem I had, was every upgrade I might want to do has to be part of a rental program, you have to pay for a call out on faults (you're already paying them) and the buyback costs are just silly. Even after 5 years.

RE the inverter size. I'm revising my need to 5.5, however my long term approach is to constantly build on this to become as independent as possible.,

    Embarking on Solar Stuffs......

Thanks for the feedback, when you say, "short lived" do you mean that it failed, or was there some other reason for getting rid of it?

    Possibly Upgrading My System

Do yourself a favour and get a copy of the Gosolr contract, or PM me for one. Hell to the no….. I’m also in a similar scenario and swimming about a bit.

    Embarking on Solar Stuffs......

Thanks for the response - what approval is required from CoCT? Is my solar deployment of any relevance in their lives?

    Embarking on Solar Stuffs......

What I want to do is have a house that runs normally, sans geyser, pool and flatlet. Stove is already gas, lots of LED lights, but still about 12 that need to be converted. The plan is to ultimately (as the years go by) cover damn near everything. The question that still remains for is, what...

Thanks Chris - surely that then makes these units are grey imports with little or no support? Did he manage to find a certified installer to do the deployment?

    Embarking on Solar Stuffs......

So, I've decided that I need to stop cocking around and get on with getting my house better equipped. Like many, the cost of entry is rather more demanding than my wallet would like, so I'm hoping for an experienced people give input. (For the record, I did look at the GoSolr option, but...

Come to think of it, the new Dune must be quite something to behold too....

    Best 4k movie visually...?

Anyone watched Top Gun: Maverick on 4k Bluray? Apparently, the production and visuals are excellent in that format.

Is live radio going the way of the dodo ?

I have to admit, I haven’t listened to radio for about 5 years. I used to be a voracious radio listener from my car, as I have a lengthy commute to and from the office. As the target demographic changed and I got older, the music component of radio started to fade for me. I also totally...
