I'm also an amateur astronomer and owner of a 10" dobsonian SkyWatcher which I have fully modded with degree/setting circles, auto focuser and other upgrades. My wife will not be pleased with my new found interest, not to mention the costs involved.. But...a man has to tinker...I love building...
