250k sounds like a peculiar choice. 100K should be fine to reduce some gain run the pot in shunt mode, you should lose about 20% and it will sound better as well

Another cheap option but works incredibly well is a xioami mi box s. Tidal will pick up the Chromecast function and it will play directly to it. Much better than airplay

unfortunately, the sound of any device cant be pinned on the figures. getting good figures is easy. getting good sound is a completely different story
