I dont mind large hi-fi's but it is a general trend that as they get beyond a certain size it's the rare few that remain elegant looking. This hi-fi has jumped right to the top of my mental list of most off-putting looking hi-fis. Absolutely tasteless!

1000% was about to say the same. I'm assuming he was a man of some means and that it brought him joy while he was alive is all that counts. I expect his dependents are well taken care of and do not depend on the proceeds from the hi-fi sale to make ends meet.

My concern would be galvanic corrosion having the two metals directly in contact - especially in humid environments. I wouldn't be happy to see pitting in the metal even after 20 yrs if I have forked out the asking price. Perhaps the metals are coated to prevent them coming into direct contact?

How does one go about removing the effect of the break in of your ears? Obviously your ears are an integral part of this assessment and as your ears become more accustomed to the presentation of the system your subjective assesment will change even if nothing else does.
