Yeah I think one has to really step up on kit to hear the difference. I can hear the diff between MQA and Spotify quite clearly, but I have a very revealing amp.

Went for a LP12 from Mike and after numerous recommendations a Zen Phono. Also got the balanced cable to connect to my VA Predator. Even though this is my first setup, will report back with listening thoughts  :)

Interesting read, the return to tactile forms of art has both a positive and negative effect on consumerism. It would be really challenging to make a balanced argument either way

Update: Received my VA Predator and then compared the BS node to Zone 3 out of the Denon. The difference was night and day, the Predator made all the difference and the Node, playing MQA, sounds really good! I presume a big chunk of it is due to the fact that the Denon can't render MQA through...

You say you returned it. What do you use to stream through the RME?

+1 on the Ubiquiti extender, they are amazing.

I used Pure Direct for both tests. The difference is not subtle, it's actually quite noticeable, especially with vocals and detail (subtleties like bells played on cymbals and high-hat sound). Vocals are a LOT better through the Denon. I compared MQA from Tidal to Spotify Connect at 320kbps...

Thanks Drifter Got a hold of Schalk and he's going to sort out the mod. Correct, the towers are able to be bi-wired or bi-amped, neither of which I need to do for my purposes.
