I noticed The Listeningroom in Durban has a dCs P8i SACD player for R35k. Think this player was around R100k new in 2006. Anyone has comments on this player. I'm looking for an upgrade to my Yamaha CD S1000. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I like the Musical Fidelity brand, but have not...

Grab a Sony. They'll walk all over the more expensive stuff. 2nd hand bargains on avsa from time to time. ;)

Fedex econ shipment took a week to get here. I ordered a UMC-1, with XPA-2 for main stereo, with XPA-3 sorting the centre and surrounds. 190lb being shipped, so the Fedex charges went to $690. Duties and VAT came to just over R2k. The remote is one sexy piece of metal. Works very well too, but...

Finally got the Emotivas connected. They sound stunning, once set up properly. Yamaha CD S1000 Sony BDP 5000ES Emotiva UMC-1 (sexiest remote ever), XPA-2 & XPA-3 Vivid Audio V1.5 & C Velodyne SPL800 (almost hidden behind curtain) Panasonic PT AX200 (somewhere on the ceiling)
