These S12's seem to be the the main comparison for a the timeless now apparently they very close, perhaps use the same driver with different implementation. for $60 less, better cable, better looking IMO These are apparently a little more fun than the timeless, more punch, slightly elevated...

I cant find much on this yet, seems feature rich and affordable. I would wait for reviews to get their hands on it first, I also notices it had AKM dac chip?? I thought that was history. IS AKM back and running?

You're right I should of mentioned stereo set up only - which is what I run. I dont care for dolby and all that. Stereo is king.

The problem with the zen dac is the lack of digital inputs. This makes using it in a home set up more complicated. It really can only use usb input. To this I say you're better served using a Zen One Signature and using optical out from your tv to the Zen One. If you're willing to make the...

Ive got the SH9 amp - really hoping to get a SU9 to pair with it. Probably going to wait till someone sells one. Could be a while. Currently using a zen Dac to the SH9 - sounds great but cant help but feel im not getting as much resolution and clarity as I want. Using a Hifiman Arya with it.

Apparently you don't need to feed them balanced from dac to get a balanced out. Have you done this and can you hear any difference?

990 is a fantastic headset, value for money is great! Treble never bothered me either on those.
