We watch probably 80% of movies using our stereo setup and it does sound very good ;) But then again(without trying to sound facetious) an HT setup of the same quality is way outside my budget ::)

I heard a Harmon Kardon unit at my daughter's gymnastics class and it sounds quite impressive, huge bass from a relatively small unit. Don't know which model it is though.

I had someting similiar happening to me some time ago. The sound was just not right on my stereo setup, but because at that stage we were using it for movies with lots of dialogue, I did not think too much of it. However when I listened to a CD after that, I realised there was no mids and bass...

I am not sure which one it was. It was the one that makes you loose your memory, but I can't remember ;D It was a long time ago though, so maybe it's just old age ::)

And it has taken you this long to find it out? Maybe an ear test should on the cards as a potential upgrade  :o I "hear" things are wrong on my setup without anything being wrong, I may just be in a bad mood ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have heard the Bose SoundDock, but it did not really impress me. It was almost as if they did the same trick they do with their speaker setups and enhance a specific lower band of frequencies, which off course impress a lot of people initially. Have not heard the Zeppelin, but reports seem to...
