    Cooling fans on amps???

They are Rotel RB970BX's.  And the speakers are Klipsch, so they have a rather high sensitivity already. Firstly, thanks to all for the great engaging comments. I would like to stress one point though, I am not deaf or over play the system but merely thought that one could and would prolong the...

    Cooling fans on amps???

Ok, having chatted to a fellow forumite, I feel confident enough to explain myself. I have noted that when I play system for extended periods or if its insanely hot the amps get pretty warm.  I have tested it with a thermal camera so know exactly where the heat is generated.  I have bought two...

I agree totally with this as well.  As I have no come to learn reading this forum, your room acoustics count for a great deal

    Newbie needs advice

I agree with you completely.  I have just bought a set of speakers that I auditioned at an AV shop.  He played same songs through same amp, but swapped between speakers.  You could hear distinct differences between brands.

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

Just an update. I ended up buying the Klipsch RF82's.    They are alittle big, but first impressions are good.  Definately an improvement with the lower frequency, I am enjoying so far

    HK Audio ???

I guess so, I just really enjoyed the minimal look yet massive sound to them. Similar sort of prices to what I was going to spend on some decent floor standers.

    HK Audio ???

I just have.  It might seem stupid, but is it a stupid idea to buy something like this for a home system? My house is very open plan and trying to full the entire area with good sound has been a concern.

    HK Audio ???

So it would not be fair in saying that a PA type active system would generate an inferior sound quality? I actually asked the owner about it, he did mention that it was one of their smaller systems, but honestly, it was mighty impressive. I am still in disbelief

    HK Audio ???

I went to a place last night, that literally had four satelite type speakers and two subs, the sound was phenomenal  Question, what is the real difference between a PA type system to a home system? I am curious?

    Dual Purpose Garage

I actually think this is a brilliant idea.  Yeah sure if you have spare rooms use one of those , but if not, a garage decked out right could be awesome. You could create a balance between a home theatre and have a small industrial look to it. Post pics when done

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

Its actually a good point. I never really thought of it that way.  If I think about it, that is the only problem I have with the 601's. They just can't handle the bass when you really giving it. Something to really think about here

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

Help me here, maybe I don't understand 'stereo subs'. Is this basically fitting two subs on either side and set the frequency rather high up?

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

I have just had all my Rotel gear serviced, so I should be good for a little while. Am I reading you correctly?  are you saying get two subs?  This little psb rocks though

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

I currently have two RB970's. I guess that won't really cope with the CM9's? What did you prefer from the Bowers over the Klipsch? I find very mixed views about them, I have only heard them once so alittle aprehensive

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

Think I found my problem.  Its that damn durban poison I am on  :whistler: Seriously though, I actually did look at buying the CM9.  Only problem really is that I would most likely need bigger amps, the two rotels I have I am not sure will be bigger enough.  This now means that I will now...

You reckon these could compete with Klipsch rf82's?

Advice - New Speakers and Amp

I think I should add, I don't have a problem with the sound of the system.  Remember I added a small 8" PSB sub which fills the room with the bass I loose from the 601's.  I know in theory that a sub is only for movies and so on, but mine is placed no where near a corner and it runs a fairly...
