Why Hip-Hop is the Most Important Artistic Movement in Human History

This guy is high. Anyone who is deeply connected to some aspect of a culture will be able to have similar arguments and nothing of this transcends the rave into the general. The same pedestal he puts post-modernism on is the trope which mocks his argument.

    Lifespan of batteries

There is no such thing as an honest battery salesman. Lithium batteries have a linear projected decay whereas Lead Acid Batteries can fail drastically and quickly (and they do). This makes Lithium attractive even after its EOL and many, many batteries have used cells in them (even some in fancy...

    2nd Life batteries

Many of the cells sold online are 2nd life cells out of Chinese public transport systems or EVs. There are many, many threads about DIY batteries and my conclusion thus far is that many of them use cells that are either re-packaged or otherwise as the bulk of real A-grade cells end up in EVs...

    CRYPTO MINING

My understanding is that unless you have very cheap energy you're about 4 years late or you're speculating. It's less time intensive to spend the money speculating more conventionally. The major currencies are bound to adopt staking or similar algorithms and you have large regulatory risk for...

Help with sealed box subwoofer build

Sealed mega excursion 15 is equivalent in output to a vented middle of the road 12 SPL wise with half the power above fs and typically reduced distortion. Measure the room at the intended initial position perhaps and take it from there. In a corner will excite all axial modes so start there.

Help with sealed box subwoofer build

Once one has sufficiently large enclosures and knows how to properly optimize a port, vented cabs are glorious. For small cabs sealed is much more forgiving, especially if one has lots of power and mechanical headroom to throw at something...or convenient room modes to ride. I wouldn't push Qtc...

Help with sealed box subwoofer build

The alignment is small signal anyways, there is tons more to a subwoofer box than just the TSPs...especially once you add ports and other fun things and really look at the details beyond correlation of small signal behavior with some model. Many who should understand these things are perhaps too...

    R650

Might very well be that there is more to this, any nearer info? No idea whom this might be and I am just commenting on the standard set by the CPA (widely ignored).

Help with sealed box subwoofer build

That has much more to do with the room config and integration with your mains. Modal analysis, optimizing location, optimal configuration of such (REW +EQ or room correction by itself need not apply). The details of the woofer alignment are academic compared to the room and optimizing the setup...

    R650

The Consumer Act and case history is such, that a service when it constitutes an inspection for repair or similar needs to have a contract in place with a known price before the fee is binding. The consumer needs to be provided with a quotation or the base fee needs to be communicated by means...

    Loadshedding system advide needed please

Kodak rebrands various makes from Axpert to DEYE (complete opposite ends of the spectrum). I would consult the powerforum or similar with the setup perhaps.

Vodacom contract is more difficult to cancel than a gym contract

One issue is that the signing of these contracts is loosely controlled and the agents are paid commission on them. Glad of the headway that was made, sad about the wasted hours or days that one has to take out to deal with dodgy business practices.

    DC lighting

I am looking at replacing the lighting in my house and thought whether one could use LED strip lights to good effect? I am thinking of laying a 24/48V dc bus in the house roof for all manner of uses in conduit. Any experience with LED lighting and the requisite ali extrusions and polycarbonate...

Rather look into a fail over switch.

    subwoofer port help please

A PR often has a thread inside the former where one can add mass to change the tuning.

    subwoofer port help please

One can build a passive radiator by adding mass to a speaker driver. Where a subwoofer driver might have a Fs of 30Hz for argument's sake, you can drop that to perhaps 10Hz..where the PR will have a bit of a steeper roll off compared to an air port. You can lower fs by adding weight, either with...

    Scubadude's 8kW Solar Installation

Storage adds flexibility to a system and extends battery life. It's mostly for daytime consumers or those who have old meters and grid tie where the panels are more applicable.

    subwoofer port help please

First off assume with that repairer that your driver parameters are far from original. Perhaps contact the OEM about a spare kit or replacement?

    Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Unless if you are Yugoslavia, Libya, Syria or some other country in which some of the members wish to bless with insurgency aimed at regime change. Russia and China will after Libya never again green light such operations so now NATO is the next club. I think the FUD and fog of war will last...

HEAR HEAR - The sound difference acoustics makes

GIK started with a cheeky derrivative of Prof Trevor Cox's BAD design and they have a wide variety of panels. Wicked bunch when one runs into them at shows who take their acoustics seriously but don't take themselves too seriously. I've cut plenty of BAD derrived patterns into covers for guys...
