Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

As per Sunsynk advice. We moved the EMI filter from under the hob. Sunsynk specified that the filter is specked for the 5KW inverter and should be between the inverter and grid port, this then will not have any current draw through this filter to go to hob. If not done, I would have to buy a...

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

Some feedback. The good news: the problem has been resolved. Sunsynk gracefully supplied an EMI Filter (n/c) which was installed and now the Smeg Hob works. Thanks to all for the discussion and advice.

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

I've contacted Sunsyk directly and the technical manager is looking into the matter. He suggested trying a filter which Sunsynk will supply. I will give feedback once I know the filter specs and the outcome after installation.

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

Thanks, I will pass on the info. Question though, if the neutrals are properly separated, how then do they remedy your points 1 (Harmony) and 2 (RFI)? With an EMI Filter?

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

Thanks for the info. Also, I thought of the lock mode initially, checked a couple of times, but it was not locked. Hob switches on, but does not select the zone using the pan, either automatically or manually. Yet, with inverter off, it does it perfectly and promptly. The supplier even thought...

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

The installers company engineer suggested we use an EMI Filter matching the Sunsynk's frequency and the Hobs power rating. Now I'm waiting until he finds the right frequency.

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

When you bypass the entire system, Hob works. When you switch off AC Power and run only battery power (inverter off), the Hob works. Will connect to another circuit and report back - still does not work if the Inverter is on. Thanks

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

No. Directly to Eskom power. Not through Inverter.

Inverter blending power is upsetting the Smeg Hob

Can I trouble you for some advice please: I just had an Installation of Sunsynk Single-Phase 5.5kW Hybrid Inverter and a Sunsynk Sun-Batt 5.32 done. All the essentials were connected to the Sunsynk and the following items were left connected to Eskom Power: Smeg Induction Hob (4 months old)...
