A much smarter move, gets you into the vinyl world relatively unscathed and if you don't enjoy it you'd probably recoup most of your spend.

How do you know the turntable has been refurbished is it because the seller is saying so? if so what was refurbished if the needle is broken surely this would have been addressed in the refurbishment? There is nothing special about the Kenwood KP-1022 although nothing wrong with it either but...

I take it you mean hum? If it goes away when you touch the tonearm then the arm is definitely not earthed and it sounds like your earth cable is severed somewhere inside where its not visible, run a new earth cable from the tonearm to the amp or pre amp.

I appreciate that you do this in your spare time so when you cant make them there are no hard feelings from my side but then don't just keep the money and ignore PM's that I have an issue with. I had to ask you a bunch of times for updates on the boards and now also the refund.

Most photography shops have it, I think they use it when developing photos, like Mike said you only need a few drops with each bottle of cleaning mix you make, I think they come in 500ml+ bottles which is enough to wash 1 trillion LP's :D I bought mine from a photography shop don't remember...

Anyone know where about on the front panel of the DSTV Explora the IR LED is located? I'm using an HDMI over Ethernet extender with IR and struggling a bit to get the IR extender lined up.
