Did some tests by switching the AVR to pure direct and listening to the PS3 and then the CDP one after the other on that setting.  I THINK, I did hear a difference.  I am going to try this again this evening but with the same CD in each and trying to listen to the exact same segment of the CD...

When would a good cdp make a difference to a system? Direct to an integrated amp?

I am looking at buying a Marantz CD player and would like some advise. I current am running my PS3 as a CDP through an HDMI cable to my Denon 4200.  My question would then be:  would a dedicated CDP DAC be better than the Denon? Thanks

I don't think so.  Checked this with a friend who is an electrical engineer. The 5 channel no amped is actually pushing more power into a tower than the 200w x 2.

Great video. I've said it do many times that nowadays it's about quantity and not quality. The real culprits are the producers that take any useless artist and using digital technics make them into "stars". Most artist can't even play out live because they actually cannot sing.
