The verdict is this:  this job was a **** load of work (+- 23 hours witha fair amount of rework here and there) and a lot of thinking to get around a few complications along the way. The benefit was that the rears are much clearer than the fronts which are at the moment standard opel speakers...

Had to even drill recesses for the mounting screws so that the speaker mounts didn't cause unnecessary bulk resulting in door cards not fitting

Previous spacers was cut by a moron and was too thick so the bloody door cards couldn't go back :ticked: Had to make up spacers which were much thinner

Final install

Definitely future proofing the install.  laying down earth for front and rear as well as running a sub cable inside the panels just incase. To strip an opel rear doors is a pain :facepalm:

Some questions:  1. For wiring up an amp, I have a 7m 4GA power cable.  Can the same gauge be used for ground or does one need something thicker? 2.  I have a water methanol injection system wired to the rear of my car.  The power and ground cabling has already been laid down.  My question is...

Settled on fosgate punch P165-SE - they are on their way.  The frequency response being as low as 55hz would give you that decent bass.

Did look at the alpine slimline self powered but this is going into an Opel Astra H OPC which is a hatch.  I want to keep everything out of sight, not even in the boot.  The amp mounting is even a problem for me and I am thinking of mounting in the passenger foot well to keep it close to the HU...
