By elimination of AVRs already on this thread I would say that Marantz and Denon are left.  Whats the broad view on these? Also in the market for new cables.  Need bi wire so whats the recommendation that sounds awesome but are not ridiculously priced.  Running an X2200 on Bronze 6s and QED silver

Check your PS3 gain level.  When playing a CD, access the pop up menu via the options button (On sony TV remote).  Click on the little speaker like icon and drop the slider to the middle being neutral. That could be it.

Thanks for the feedback. I assume then that the PS3 DAC will come into play when using an optical connection to the AVR?  Also, that the DAC on the receiver is a better option than this via the HDMI? i.e. leave the setup as is :-) I have one more question.  I was looking into running a stereo...

I have ordered a Z5 compact about 2 months back with no problems. The second purchase was a SDHC card for that phone.  The orders got F*****up and I what seemed to be 2 charges went off my account (incontact SMS).  On a closer look it seems that they didnt charge my account. I am still waiting...

So I've made the decision. Awaiting delivery and I can't wait.  All feedback to follow.....

its narrowed to these because of budget. nothing more than R6k. Its an open plan lounge/kitchen and dining so around 80m2.  It will be running off a Denon X2200 paired up with Monitor Bronze 6s
