    MC cartridge

Also get in touch with the dealer where you bought it. Ortofon used to have a program where you could get 40% discount if you traded in a damaged MC cart. Came in very handy when my offspring broke off the stylus.

This post about people not posting is making it even less attractive for would-be posters to post.

Subwoofer gain/volume/level on a preamp through second pre-out

https://avinside.co.za/advert/velodyne-cht-10r-active-subwoofer/ https://avinside.co.za/advert/bowers-and-wilkens-as6-subwoofer/ Both of these have speaker terminals. The Velodyne appears to go a bit lower.

Subwoofer gain/volume/level on a preamp through second pre-out

Look for one that has speaker terminals, then you can connect to the power amp.

Subwoofer gain/volume/level on a preamp through second pre-out

Good point. I checked the speakers’ -6db, but not the sub. Really seems like this particular sub is not best for this application.

Subwoofer gain/volume/level on a preamp through second pre-out

I also found better results once I set the phase to 180. But it comes down to listening/measuring (pick your poison) what works best.

Subwoofer gain/volume/level on a preamp through second pre-out

I recently re-integrated a sub with my system and I agree with much of what's been said here. I also (initially) found that my HT sub didn't integrate well with the stereo setup. Some subs just don't marry well with some speakers. I also had to set the line sensitivity because the output...

    Where to from here?

I don't necessarily want to talk you out of keeping or selling the B&Ws. I have had 600 to 800 series and I still use them. There is also a little voice in my head asking what would it would be like to try other speakers. But, they still have a sonic quality that I really enjoy. That said...

    Do you power condition?

Much of this ridiculous debate comes down to my experience with my own TV while using a power regenerator. Which I now deeply doubt, seeing that I don't know the One and Only True Science as Prophesied by the Cult of Audio Science Review. But I thought it might be fun to redirect to someone who...

    Do you power condition?

It's not quite that simple either. Anyone can question unproven claims to their hearts content. Your reference to "He literally said I can't see how that could make a difference" is somewhat understated. See below for the exact dogmatism of KM's views. Even the first response looks harmless...

    Do you power condition?

Two users in this very thread have already reported the same, as do many others online. Yet you somehow know better. Without bringing a shred of information, research, observation, or experience to the table to constructively discuss or disagree. And you seem incapable of keeping an open...

    Do you power condition?

Thank you for this and 100% agree. Your post triggered a memory. It was in fact an older Tice Power Block that I tested in my system. And that was the item that didn't work well for me. Tried to edit the post, but couldn't. I had extensive conversations with Wayne about trying a Furman at the...

    Do you power condition?

I have been asking myself why I feel the need to respond to these posts. There was a time when I was younger and much less experienced with audio stuff. I am now older and have a folio of my own experiences. Over the years I have found some valuable input here. And so I was happy to share my own...

    Do you power condition?

On my system, in my home, which was connected to the grid where I used to live, it absolutely was a factually accurate description of what I observed. The shorter collective name for that is "MY EXPERIENCE". Which I made perfectly clear at the beginning of my post. Just in case it wasn't...

    Do you power condition?

Edit: In terms of TV picture quality, the first thing I said in my post, which was freely given to a question freely asked, is “in my experience”. I’ll leave that there. And yeah, in terms of ASR: As I said elsewhere on this forum, anything the folks on ASR hate, I seem to love. I use my eyes...

    Do you power condition?

Happy to share my experience. I tried a Furman power conditioner once. It was the cheaper one that is more recommended for its surge protection. Initially I thought that it improved the sound. Sounded more detailed and cleaner. Then, as it settled, we (did this with a friend, and we both heard...

    Wiim mini streamer question

I tend to find that I enjoy anything that the ASR "scientists" do not like. Last time I checked, I use my eyes to interpret charts and my ears to hear, maybe that has something to do with it. And I don't know how they could even begin to castrate you. You need a pretty big pair to make any...

    Wiim mini streamer question

I support the advice to get the Wiim Pro. The Pro Plus is great if you want to use its onboard DAC. I haven't heard its DAC, but you have an external DAC, so that functionality is superfluous (unless you are planning to sell the Theta). I bought a Wiim Mini and sent it back the next day. The...

Is it worth switching car tracker services?

I didn't really have a choice. I actually wanted a write-off and pay-out, because for safety reasons I had already resolved that I didn't want the same car anymore. But insurance's decision was to repair. And the repairers did do a good job, so I can't really fault them for the decision. I...
