Don't have any experience with the elex specifically, but I've got a pair of Clears, and they've been solid, no issues to speak of and I've had them for around 1.5 years or so. Worth noting that replacement pads from Focal are $$$, but you can get alternative ones from Dekoni for reasonable prices.

Audeze Mobius/ Penrose are also solid alternatives as closed-back planars, unless the gamer aesthetic is off-putting, and comes in considerably cheaper. I can also vouch for the sound quality of the Penrose at least, and I also find them supremely comfortable although YMMV.
