    2022 flu vaccine.

My approach to the flu vaccine has always been the approach now adopted to the Covid vaccine: get it if you want but it's highly unlikely that you'll die without it. There will obviously be outliers but they're just that. This has now been proven by the widespread - and acknowledged - natural...

    Which Andriod Auto Headunit

It's definitely a save-for-months purchase but you'll get what you pay for.

Looking to service a morso-style fireplace

Last time around when my open fireplace needed a service, I gave Fireplace Warehouse a call and asked them who they can recommend for servicing. Might be a good idea for you to try that, too?

    Which Andriod Auto Headunit

The Kenwoods are certainly pricey but they're definitely worth it.

    Which Andriod Auto Headunit

If going for a Kenwood unit and presuming that your double-DIN aperture is not some special size, I would look at this unit: https://www.kenwood.com/ae/car/visual_navigation/ddx9019sm/. I'm not certain but it may even have wireless AA which is a big plus.

    Which Andriod Auto Headunit

I'll always suggest a Kenwood or Alpine unit based on my experience with a single-DIN high-end Kenwood unit for my older Corolla and a double-DIN non-nav Kenwood touchscreen for my Swift. I installed the Swift's system in such a way that it looks as OEM as possible. It even uses the...

    French Cars (Renault, specifically)

French cars always get an A+ for design effort but a solid F for execution. My girlfriend's Peugeot 208 1.2 is testament to that. Her brother had one, too. He didn't drive it especially hard but one day, the exhaust sheared off near the catalytic converter. I've never seen metal tear like that.

    Nissan Magnite CVT

Do you research carefully and read widely. Under the Nissan badge, the Magnite is actually a badge-engineered Renault Kiger, including the engine and gearbox. The reviewers (the honest ones, at least) have repeatedly complained about the poor CVT gearbox in the Kiger.

DSTV Now will be limited to viewing on one device at a time only

If you only watch DStv through a decoder setup (with up to two additional decoders), this change doesn't affect you. If you watch DStv through a decoder setup and your laaitie watches it on his PC/iPad, this change also doesn't affect you. If you watch DStv through a decoder setup, your...

    PrimeVideo Voices

The delay with the picture quality is likely because Prime Video doesn't have a South African server/peer like Netflix does. You're having to rely on the incoming international connection to be decent enough to stream 1080p or higher.

    STATS SA - Data collection

They still haven't bothered to come see me. My live-in domestic worker also says she hasn't seen them.

Stop Direct Marketers - Its easy - nationaloptout.org

I've received calls from the same 021 number with the recorded message. I block the number using the built-in blocking function on iPhone. A few days later, I'll get another call from an 021 number - but the last few digits are different to the one I blocked - with the same recorded message. So...

SA Craft beers and where to get them

Heads-up: next week Saturday (5 February) is SA National Beer Day. Support your local craft brewer!

    STATS SA - Data collection

Stats SA says online registration for the census is "mandatory" - but they will still visit you at your house even if you don't register. I'm not home much weekdays or weekends so the chance of me actually interacting with the data collectors is minimal. My domestic worker knows to call me...

Did anyone ever find out what it is that he wouldn't do for love?

Mondegreen: Or, how did I get that so wrong.

My two favourites: "There's a bathroom on the right" instead of the correct lyrics, being "There's a bad moon a-rising" - Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Bad Moon Rising' "And put up a f*ckin' lot" instead of the correct lyrics, being "And put up a parkin' lot" - Counting Crows' Big Yellow Taxi

Recycling of old electronics and batteries

They moved recently but I visited their new premises: 1482 Seilskip Road, Laser Park, Honeydew, 010 222 0345. Let me know if you come right.

Recycling of old electronics and batteries

Look for South City eWaste Recyclers in the Laser Park area, near Honeydew. I've used them before and plan to do so again early in January.
