Your link "hirez" is excellent. I'd say your tutorage was very good. I have some Beatles flac files, I took off my computer. Just sounded crap. Even with digital enhancement, to me some stuff is so bad, breathless, its unlistenable.

So essentially what understand is that our hearing, at best is around 20kHz, possibly with kit on the lower "audiophile" end it will still reproduce the file but above 20 it is virtually white noise of no musical value. So essentially 48kHz 24 bit is the way to listen & store digital files...

Hi Marc I have a CXC S2 transport, no internal DAC, hooked up through it's toslink output in or I can use the SPDIF Coax into my Pre-amp. Very happy.
